PC Version...
RaiderjakkRaiderjakk 1227490842|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

I have a PC version of the solitaire version of Quincunx (and Jacynth) at my website. It will work on any modern PC with the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0. It will also work on Linux with Mono version 1.9.1 or higher. I haven't tried it yet with Mac OS.

Game is listed to the right on my site at http://www.jkntech.com/

Thanks much,

J.

I've had technical difficulties trying this. But I am getting a new laptop this year, and I will try again with the new hardware.

Dumb question, but what operating system and specs are you running?

I'm running Mac OS, and my five-year-old powerbook— on top of having very little drive space left— has become rather eccentric. My new macbook has already shipped, though, and I'll try it with Mono when I get a chance.

I managed to make Jacynth work on my Intel mac with mono, but the interface wouldn't work very well, I was unable to actually play the game…

Jacynth on the PC is admittedly a little ugly for an interface.

Basically, to place a marker, click on the black dot on the right and then click on one of the cards in the grid.

If you want to place a card on the grid, click on one of the cards in your hand and then click on an open adjacent block on the grid. Once that happens, it should show you what is in the discard pile in your hand - that's the card that's sideways up in the hand.

Not the most obvious, but I wasn't really planning on releasing it elsewhere.

Quincunx has a similar interface.

It does need drag and drop… haven't gotten around to it yet.

The other thing - I know Jacynth and Quincunx work on Windows/Linux. Mac is the one OS I don't have. :-(

I think at least Jacynth only works partially on the mac, because I did click the cards and tried to place them and it didn't work…
